Starfish Syllables

Water down the well;

wishing well. Well of words.

Searching for a holy grail.

Verse and syllable sanctified.

Swift current streams

washing down hillsides

carrying sediment of sentiment.

Oedipus divine.

A sea of metaphor,

delta sands diverse.

Scattered grains of truth,

to be swept up into

            plastic buckets.

Sandcastles

folded and formed.

Reality molded from

a child's toy is

            serpentine stability

            at best.

Starfish dismembered

are starfish still.

Words not spoken

are emotion all the same.
